WhatsApp Partnered with JioMart in India for end-to-end shopping

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced WhatsApp’s first global shopping partnership with JioMart. Zuckerberg announced it on his official Facebook page, calling it the “first-ever end-to-end shopping experience on WhatsApp.” Users will be able to “buy groceries from JioMart directly in the chat”.

“Business messaging is an area with real momentum, and chat-based experiences like this will be the main way people and businesses communicate for years to come,” he wrote.

In a press statement, Jio said that the JioMart feature on WhatsApp “will enable users in India, including those who have never shopped online before, to seamlessly browse the entire JioMart grocery catalog, add items to their cart and make a payment to complete their purchase – all without leaving the WhatsApp chat .” The chatbot was created by Jio-owned Haptik.
